Our classes are a combination of yoga styles, this is a modern practice of an ancient discipline where we whack the heat up (42c / 40 humidity)
Hot Yoga is a modern practice of an ancient discipline where we whack the heat up 40c . This heat creates a perfect environment to sweat, exert yourself and get a better workout.
Our heating system has been designed using the very latest technology with optimum levels of oxygen pumped into the studio when the system is running. We have used state-of-the-art materials to ensure our heat and humidity levels are carefully controlled, so that you can enjoy a comfortable and safe yoga practice!
At Hot Fit we use radiant heat to warm our students. Radiant heat is a gentle heat (it is the same heating technology that keep babies warm in incubators) this allows the body to warm up from the inside. Similar to the rays of the sun, radiant heat warms the objects around you rather than air, this creates a more evenly distributed heat that reaches every corner of the studio.
In order to gain the maximum cardiovascular benefits when practicing hot yoga, you need a reliable and constant fresh air/oxygen supply. We have installed a high-tech ventilation system that uses heat recovery technology, this will ensure that the fresh air being pumped into the studio is kept at the correct temperature, so that you get the most out of YOUR YOGA practice.
The combination of body heat and sweat in a hot yoga studio can exacerbate the humidity levels. It is essential that we maintain the correct level of humidity: as too much humidity will make it feel muggy and not enough humidity will leave the room feeling uncomfortably dry. The optimum level of humidity for HOT yoga lies at around 40 to 50 percent. At this level, students will benefit the most: it becomes easier to increase the heart rate, which in turn promotes cardiovascular health; it also improves blood circulation by allowing a slight thinning of the blood; and last, but not least, tension in the muscles will release, allowing a deeper stretch.
Increases your core strength
Revitalizes the body and mind
Improves function of internal organs
Strengthens and tones muscles
We practice a combination of yoga styles in our heated studio- set routine classes and flow classes , for comparison Route 26 is more like Absolute or Bikram yoga style and the other classes are more similar to Vinyasa flow classes and we also have a more chilled Yin style class called Friday Fix. All our classes are designed by experienced practitioners to help you get fitter and more flexible, they are designed so that all levels can participate at their own pace. More details on all the classes can be found here.
Anyone ! Yoga is suitable for all our body’s -young or old, stiff or flexible, athletic or not, beginners or experienced yogis . We encourage everyone to practice at their own pace, you know your own body and should practice within your own limits, whatever they be! The more you practice the fitter and more flexible you will become .
The short answer is you will feel better, look better, sleep better and function better .
**The longer answer is: **
• Helps flush toxins from your body
• Promotes body fat reduction
• Greater flexibility
• Builds strength
• Stimulates blood circulation
• Increases your levels of the “happy hormone” serotonin
• Helps you sleep better and relax more easily
• Muscles and connective tissue become more elastic allowing for greater flexibility with less chance of injury.
• Promotes sweating which assists the detoxification process using the body’s largest elimination organ: the skin.
• Your blood becomes a little thinner, which clears the circulatory system.
• When the body is between three and five degrees above normal temperature, T-cell output from the thymus gland is multiplied 20 fold. T-cells fight infection, which in turn helps the immune system functioning properly.
• Warmer temperatures allows the body to strech deeper thus allowing for greater range of motion in the joints.
• Heart rate becomes elevated improving the cardiovascular system and fitness.
• Warm muscles burn fat more effectively. When we stretch, the fat has no room to sit, so it redistributes to the blood stream. We can then use it as energy.
• Capillaries respond to the heat by dilating. This allows more oxygen to muscles, tissues, organs and glands helping to remove waste products from the body.
• Higher temperatures improve the function of the nervous system, meaning that messages are carried more rapidly to and from the brain or spinal cord.
• Speeds the breakdown of glucose and fatty acids.
• Strengthens willpower, self-control and determination.
• All this gives you a wonderful glow from head to toe. The heat combined with the sequence of the postures is what makes Your Hot Yoga so special.

Here we give detailed clear instructions for each posture and you will see your improvement with each practice. Alternatively you can attend any class and take it at your own pace until you gain more confidence and experience.

Great! Everyone has to start somewhere . We would advise you to try Route 26 first as this class is specially designed for beginners . Try this a few times to familiarise yourself with the posture ( asana ) names . If you do want to throw yourself in the deep end with a flow class( many people do ) just try and copy other people and do not be afraid to sit some sections out to observe others. We prefer new students to take a mat at the back of the room so you can see what others are doing . Mats in the front row should be used by experienced students. We were all beginners one day, we are here to help you . If you have any questions please just ask your instructor or email us.
As often as possible . When you first start , try to practice everyday so you get used to it and do not have time to get stiff between classes. If you can, aim for 6 days a week . You will be amazed at the results ! If you have less time, just come as often as possible !
Try and drink lots of water before class. Arriving well hydrated is the best way to show up and please bring a bottle of water into class with you . Don’t eat a big meal for at least 1.5 hrs before class as practicing on an empty stomach is best. Register with Glofox, our operating system and Book your class in advance here.
• Water ! Please make sure you have a bottle of water as you will need it . You can buy bottle water at the reception or bring your own reusable bottle. • 2 towels. Breathe through your nose ! Try to relax and breathe this way throughout the class and STAY in the class. Don’t leave the studio during class. It may take a few classes to get used to the heat . If you feel overwhelmed please take a break, sip some water, lie on your mat. Watch others , copy them , listen to the verbal instructions from the teacher. It may not “click “ the first class or the first few but it will and We promise you will get used to the heat and the postures and you will love your hot yoga and all the benefits it brings!
Please arrive 15 mins before class so we can check you in and get ready for class . Studio opens 30 minutes before each class. We welcome anyone over 10 who can stay focused and is able to stay in the hot room for 60 minutes . Minors must be accompanied by someone 18 or over. They must practice next to their legal guardian and their guardian must complete the registration on their behalf . Minors may use the shower-rooms if they are accompanied by a same sex legal guardian.
We do not recommend it during the 1st trimester as your body is adjusting . People do practice in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters but and only if they are very experienced and with prior approval from a medical practitioner. Hot yoga is NOT suitable for anyone who is pregnant and is also just new to yoga.
Practicing after giving birth really depends on how you feel. As a general rule we would say take it easy for 6-9 months after your baby arrives. As always, feel free to sit any part of the class out if it doesn’t feel right .
